The renovated Therapy Bath has opened again

Since 2004, our Therapy Bath has provided an important addition to the care and pain therapy for our sick young guests. Most of them have severely reduced mobility and the warm water provides relief and alleviates their pain. The Therapy Bath also helps the family members to be in close physical contact with one another by allowing the affected parents to hold their children in their arms without much effort aided by the buoyancy of the water.

After more than ten years, the water treatment system of the Therapy Bath had to be modernised and we bought new sanitary technology, tiles and windows, so that it can once again be used by "our" families during their stay in the Sternenbrücke. Thanks to many donations, we were able to reopen the Therapy Bath together with many of "our" families on 23 April. In her speech, hospice manager Ute Nerge said that she is grateful that so many people help and support the Sternenbrücke to allow the children's hospice to provide this special service for affected families.

Because one of "our" children had died a few days previously, the opening ceremony was held in an intimate setting. "Our" children nonetheless enjoyed themselves, and some had great fun using the Bath again for the first time since its renovation. They laughed and played surrounded by several bath ducks. The relatives are also happy about being able to relax again in the Therapy Bath in the future, which helps relief backache, which parents who spend a lot of time lifting and caring for their child often get.
