The 28 May 2013 was a special day for the Sternenbrücke. A senate reception was hosted in Hamburg's City Hall in honour our 10th anniversary. The atmosphere was incredible and it was an unforgettable experience. In his speech, the Mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Olaf Scholz, paid tribute to the work of the Sternenbrü. The chairperson of the Sternenbrücke children's hospice foundation, Dr Isabella Vertés-Schütter, also took the floor and thanked the senate: "We are pleased and grateful for the recognition by the City of Hamburg and we hope that we will be able to continue to provide the families with the support they need in the future".
Senate reception on the 10-year anniversary
Almost 100 guests, including the governing board of the foundation and of the friends' association, the board of trustees of the Sternenbrücke children's hospice as well as supporters and many journalists, used this special occasion for in-depth discussions in the impressive ceremonial hall. It was a great honour for us to have been invited to the City Hall and to have been given the opportunity to present an exhibition about our hospice and our work from 4 to 14 June in the lobby of Hamburg's City Hall.
