Music Therapy Room

Our music therapy is part of the therapeutic support and already shows effects during every therapy session: feelings of tension, inner restlessness and the sometimes severe chronic pain that “our” sick children suffer from noticeably decrease in the course of a music therapy session. The pleasant noises help the sick children to relax. This relaxation is not only reflected in the child's calm breathing, the pulse rate of "our" children also becomes calmer. A good sign that our music therapy offerings support and stabilize the well-being of young and sick guests.

The sound wave

There is also a sound wave in the music therapy room that the sick young guest can sit or lie on. The sound is physically felt as a lively vibrating vibration right down to the bone connections. The resonance-giving principle has a deeply healing aspect that is particularly important for children and young people who have limited sensory perceptions.

Music therapy as a means of dialogue

If they wish, “our” children can also have small musical dialogues with their relatives in music therapy, through which they can communicate with each other in a completely different way. In addition to the physical effect, there is also a psychological one: the expanded interaction possibilities through the easy-to-play instruments, with which the children can noticeably enter into a musical dialogue with our music therapist and their parents or siblings, increases their self-confidence.

A musical sensory garden is created

Over the last few years, we have repeatedly noticed how good our music therapy is for our children, teenagers and young adults. This gave rise to the idea of giving sick guests the opportunity to use special sound elements outdoors in a self-determined way. Since then, our musical sensory garden has allowed our sick guests to try out and express themselves instrumentally in nature.

As part of our music therapy offerings, our sick young guests can experience themselves in a new way and, together with our music therapist, find out what it is like to create sounds and melodies themselves. This allows them to express feelings that they otherwise couldn't put into words.
