Snoezelen Room

Snoezelen Room

The Snoezelen Room (a sense, touch and hearing room) helps our young guests, many of whom are significantly restricted in their sensory perceptions, to calm down. A large water bed with integrated loudspeakers, a Perspex glass column with spluttering water bubbles, moving projections and a starry sky gently challenge the different senses.

In our Snoezelen room - a room for stimulating sensory perceptions - we offer therapeutic support for “our” children, adolescents and young adults, which leads to relaxation, muscle relaxation and pain relief, but also promotes new ideas about sensitive perception. All senses - but especially the senses of sight, hearing and touch - are stimulated and addressed in the Snoezelen room using various materials. This therapy helps our young guests, many of whom have severe cognitive impairments, to calm down and feel comfortable.

Equipment in our Snoezelen room

“Snoezelen” takes place in a specially equipped room. A large water bed with integrated speakers enables even deaf guests to perceive and feel sound stimuli and music, while Plexiglas water columns with bubbling air bubbles, moving projections and a starry sky gently challenge the various senses. The different equipment elements of the Snoezelen room are used either in combination or individually, depending on the illness, wishes and preferences.
