In Ukraine, millions of people are currently experiencing dramatic conditions caused by the effects of the war. The loss of security, a home and fear for their lives has prompted many to leave their homes. Thousands of refugees who urgently need helping hands arrive in Germany every day.
The situation of these people touches us very much and we would like to make a contribution to help.
At the Sternenbrücke children's hospice, we have always made it our mission to be a "second home" for families in difficult life situations.
We feel particularly committed to this mission these days, and for us it doesn't stop at the German border. We would like to offer accommodation and professional medical care to families with seriously ill or life-threatening children from Ukraine in this terrible time of suffering and need.
In close cooperation with other healthcare organizations, we have prepared the unbureaucratic admission of affected families as well as the medical care of the sick child in the last few days and hope to be able to help the first seriously ill child with his family in the Sternenbrücke soon.
