New construction project ‘Lütte Herberge’

Help us build a home for a new sense of community with the ‘Lütte Herberge’ – a place that offers families and young people with illnesses a sense of community and support.

Offers in the new building

The services offered in the new building will be individually tailored to the needs of our sick guests and their families.

Self-catering apartments

Four self-catering apartments offer space for short breaks, short stays for medical examinations and therapies, or to fulfil special requests in the Hamburg area.

A group of people, including healthcare workers in blue uniforms, are gathered outdoors near a wooden shed, engaging in conversation.

Spending time together

Young adults with muscular diseases can also spend time here together, guided by their assistants, and experience a little bit of freedom and a better quality of life.

Memorial visits

Bereaved parents have the opportunity to return to Sternenbrücke for a short time – a wish that has been expressed time and again – and to remember their star children together with trusted individuals.

Why a new building?

Social changes pose particular challenges for families with seriously ill children. With the new building, we want to create suitable services at an early stage that provide targeted support for families. In this way, we will continue to ensure comprehensive support for young people with life-shortening illnesses in the future – while also contributing to a good infrastructure for self-care.

What are the needs and wishes of affected families?

Many families want to exchange ideas, receive support, and enjoy short breaks. The “Lütte Herberge” will offer space for encounters, shared experiences, and practical assistance – tailored to their individual needs.

Giving hope together

In order for the “Lütte Herberge” to become a reality, we are dependent on support. Every donation helps to build this house.

How can you help

The new building will cost around five million euros, 30% of which will be financed from our foundation's own funds. We are dependent on your support for the rest. Every contribution counts towards realizing this important project!
