Sternenbrücke is growing: our new building has a name
Again and again, families share with us how much it means to find peace at Sternenbrücke, to feel supported and to gather new strength – especially during times when life is difficult and challenging.
We are planning an extension so that we will be able to give even more families the chance to experience this feeling in the future. A new building on our grounds will become a place that offers even more opportunities for encounter, exchange, and retreat.
Lütte Herberge: A new place for togetherness
The Lütte Herberge will provide parents, siblings, and young adults with spaces where encounters and exchange are possible. Spaces that allow for closeness, offer relief and strengthen a sense of community.
The idea behind the name
The name Lütte Herberge was chosen with care. It symbolizes a protective, warm place — a little refuge.
In Hamburg, Lütt means “little,” while Herberge (inn, shelter) evokes the image of a roof overhead: warmth, protection, belonging, and meeting others traveling the same (life) path.
This is precisely what our new building is meant to be for affected families – a little house with a profound impact, creating space for closeness, understanding, and community.
